We are having 4 weeks of school holidays. My brain started to work on some program to fill up Jiejie's time. Some one just said it right! Kids' school holiday is parents' busiest time! Ours are home-bound mostly, and I just have to be thankful for many things along the way...
~ having won a giveaway and excellent timing to flip the book and learn through songs with Jiejie. Being a girl, she seems more interested in the beautiful drawings. We are half way through though.

~ We had a special guest, J, came over last week for a playdate (the parents were working) and we had a muffin baking session. Unfortunately, the sudden episode of minor stomach flu affected her mood very badly. But like what J's mum was saying, play is the best medicine and she did get her self up and participate part of the process. I was so glad that I didn't call off the playdate, otherwise she will be gloomy and whiny the whole day.
YX, their ex-classmate during their preschool time, who stay at the same block as us, was invited over too. Since my girl lethargically entertaining them, I quickly sought YX's grandma's permission to host J over their place for another fun play while my girl took her rest. I just have to improvise to keep the girls happy!
"I measure the sugar, you measure the flour, ok?" |
~ Grandparents! Who came over to visit us last weekend. Having them together for a meal is luxury to the girls and my self. Look! Grandpa decided to join the little ones on the small table and chairs, and he can't help himself but to voice his concern, "Eat more, will you? You are way too skinny at your age."
The cheeky one replied, "You (are very skinny) too, gong gong!"
~ A handy man as daddy, recycled a drawer-cabinet into a little kitchen for the girls. This is his second attempt after I commented the first one was not beautifully executed and compatible to ELC standard. Now, he put me in "thinking corner".
I heart this! Looks like a mobile cart though;p. |
~ Perhaps, I should also thank my self for finally letting my fence down and learn to not sweating the small stuff, especially coming from the kids.

Dancing with the mess. |
I probably should be grateful for having SC as my husband. He helped to search the whole house like a detective, he eased my mind by saying, "It isn't any big deal", he pointed what need to be done in next few days, what not and off he gone with a jet plane.
How I wish for miracle now if there is any kind soul return my identity card. My identity, that's all I ask for!
~ Mandarin holiday program that is keeping Jiejie busy for just 5 days. Thanks to my boss allows me to report to work late in the morning, so that I can send the girl (and her friend) to class. Best is, having my mum who willing to share half of my load to bring her home via the public transport (while I'm working) after class. It takes special skill to ask a favour from her and at the same time ignore her comments on my way of parenting. I'm just get exhausted sometime, but then again she is tons better than no help!

I totally LOVE the kitchen set... and made with love, too! Nothing beats that!
ReplyDeleteThings happen - Pc, perhaps you can let go and stop wondering about where that wallet is because it was unintentional and can't be undone.
For every ending, there is a beginning.
All the sudden, I really stop wondering. The thing is, $300 for reporting to ICA for the lost IC kind of painful, see?
ReplyDeleteWill definitely hope for an end there:).
Re. the wallet loss, you're not alone. I am a total scatterbrain when it comes to my belongings. I have left passports at the ticketing counter before! Hope luck (and a kind soul) is smiling on you, and see you on Sat!
ReplyDeletep.s. Little Bomber is no longer so little! Such a lovely girl. :)
Ha, you don't look like one~!
Delete(and I'm driving without license...)
Oh dear, hope you find your wallet soon, PC! Loved the photos of little bomber, she is indeed growing up to be a lovely girl! And I LOVE that kitchen, great job!!!
ReplyDeletenot hann but hann's mummy said...
ReplyDeletelove the kitchen!
Little Bomber is really grown now... and prettier by the day :) I love the kitchen your hubby made, I believe your girls will remember this for a long time to come. My dad made a bed for my Barbie dolls when I was little and I've kept it till now. Sorry to hear about the loss of your wallet. Hope someone returns it to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, I actually keeping and using the cabinet made by my dad (in the other house of mine in Kulim). Now you remind me to keep this kitchen properly^^.
DeleteAnd thanks, Little Bomber just look better in picture;p. She is losing appetite these day due to pro-ling coughing. I need to rectify this and up-keep the baby fat of hers.. heee, another set of story to tell;-\.
The kitchen set is fantastic!!! So pro! Better than ELC's one! This one is made with love from Papa!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I should teach my son to use Little Bomber's cheeky retort. My MIL thinks I'm not feeding him enough cos he's too skinny in her opinion.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's great to have a handy daddy in the house! Love what he did with the kitchen set :) And hope you find your stuff soon. My wallet was stolen once but I managed to find it near a dustbin, with the money gone (thankfully not much) but at least all my cards were intact. So a miracle can happen!
Oh, you are really blessed;)!!!
DeleteTotally understand how it feels to be overwhelmed by the juggling and losing stuff - I was like that the last 2 weeks; I can be using the thing one moment, the next second, I don't even know where I have left it. Take a breather (something that I should make a point to do as well), and focus on what is needed, although I agree that it is such a hassle to get new IDs and all. Despite the big hiccups along the way, glad to hear that you are still very thankful and choose to be positive to focus on the good things :)
ReplyDeleteI learn from all of you. Perhaps, I should slow down a bit:), adjust a bit and cross the hurdle, and move on. Right now, replacement of cards one after another, thank goodness I don't have many.
DeleteAnd I hope you are doing well there:).
Thanks Jus, Ariel, Pamela and all. You sure make a wonderful day to daddy if he see this:).
ReplyDeleteWah love the DIY kitchen set man.. cheap, good for environment and full of daddy's love! Your little girl is all grown up now!
ReplyDeleteThey grow too fast, don't they?!!!
DeleteThe kitchen set serves its purpose fully! Little bomber do cooking more than clingy on me these days... except when i reach home from work, oh well.
