Still, the work required humongous strength to pull/push in two pieces of 2-meter by 1-meter (at least) cloth together and slotted into the small sewing machine, pressed by the presser foot and let the needle run through the fabric while one foot stepped on the foot pedal. I perspired. I reworked too, to unstitch and to stitch again on a error or two. It was taxing. It was more challenging when I tried to re-purpose one of my old bed-sheet and sew together with the new cloth. Mind you, there isn't any tutorial to refer to. It was all based on my logical sense and amateur skill.
Of course, the best part was when I could wear the mattress with the shield at the end of all the sewing. The very dull black and white strips cloth became stunning on the mattress. I was over the moon!
I felt motivated, I gained confident. I moved on to sew the little Ikea Poang Slipcover next. I have been wanting to style-up the girls' Poang Chairs since beginning of 2015.
With the online tutorial, this was easier. With beautiful cloths selected by the girls, I enjoyed the sewing process. It was tremendously therapeutic with a glass of wine, listening to Daniela Andrade's Creep and sew in the wee hour.
Ta-dah! The chairs are now relive. (You probably could guess who picked which prints, I wrote more in my Chinese Blog)
Special thanks to Jenn of My Lilbookworm for accepting my work willingly, not just one but two of the bed shields; to Rachel for lelonging good condition Poang Chairs;).
