Titans of the Past @ Science Centre Singapore

Have you been to Titans of the Past? If you are interested into dinosaurs and creatures through pre-historic times, you should.

Ever since the girls hook on Dinosaur Train, I learn along with them, bit by bit. As a young child, I learnt that dinosaurs are large, scaly, dangerous lizards that went extinct millions of years ago. But I didn't really catch their names. Not until Jiejie tells me about Pteranodon, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Maiasaurus, Brachiosaurus and some other names that I need more time to grip.

We been to one dinosaur exhibition in Australian Museum during our trip to Sydney. I had some expectation for this before I entered into the hall. Frankly, this is much better. Having knowledgeable staff to stand by around the exhibition and give explanation to visitor is one great thing that the organiser has done. As the lighting is dim inside, reading to the display is not easy to most of us. The staff who was with us really a friendly man, kneed down to talk to the girls and no question beat him at all. One question I asked was, "Why always Tyrannosaurus? What makes it so famous?" The staff believed that, it could because palaeontologist finds a lot more of them compare to other dinosaurs. I also asked, how to know which is real fossil and which is replica? He showed me the differences. Because of his present to walk us through the exhibition, we asked a lot more questions and learnt a lot more too.

Before the girls entering into the kids' activity zone, we were at awe looking at those life-sized dinosaur skeletal casts of the Argentinosaurus, Giganotosaurus and (another) T-rex. Judging from the gigantic skeletons, I can't really differentiate between Giganotosaurus and T-rex. Can you?

Kids love digging into the sand. As we were quite late to the exhibition, we only spent time at this sandpit. There are few more activities keep the little hands busy. It would be great if there is a Nepresso machine for the parents to sip coffee while the kids having fun...

You have to go there to see it your self. It is really not bad.

Definitely worth going during this rainy season and your kids are having long break from school!
